Pat Metheny (full name Patrick Bruce Metheny) is one of the most famous jazz guitarists in the world. He was born on August 12, 1954, in Missouri (USA). He started playing trumpet as a child, but around the age of 12 he switched to guitar, which became his main instrument. As a young musician, he was extremely talented: at 18 years old he was already teaching music at a university soon after, he also taught at the famous Berklee College of Music. In the 1970s, he began his professional career and founded the Pat Metheny Group, becoming a star in modern jazz.
